In this new 10-part series, we explore some of the most complex crime scenes of all; those where the victim’s body was found in water.
From lakes and coastal shorelines to swamps, alligator-infested creeks and even backyard hot tubs, each episode uncovers one chilling case of a body discovered in a watery grave. Then, using witness accounts, police evidence and archive, viewers are led step by step, through the investigation that followed. With a core cast of water investigation experts, including divers, forensic pathologists and tidal experts, we reveal the challenges faced by detectives, where a body may have been carried miles from the original dump site and crucial forensic clues washed away. We also reveal the psychology and motivation behind how and why killers chose to dispose of their victims in water – and how they were ultimately brought to justice.
