True Crime: 10pm, from 9th January 2024
Original True Crime format “The Truth About My Murder” (10×60’) returns to the screens with a new series after the international success of its premiere in 2023. The new batch of episodes welcomes back one of the world’s leading forensic scientist Dr Richard Shepherd, as he tackles ten new complex murder cases, guiding the audience through each victim’s post-mortem to reveal the truth behind the crimes they were subjected to. From a state-of-the-art laboratory at Manchester Metropolitan University using a ground-breaking technology called an Anatomage Table that uses digitally scanned sample bodies, the series follows Dr Shepherd as he investigates various murder cases where pathology played a leading role in solving them and bringing the killers to justice. Featuring four US and six UK murders, the cases include Laureline Garcia-Bertaux who was crushed and asphyxiated by her Russian ex-boyfriend; Peter McMahon whose horrific torture by his fiancée led to his death; and a mysterious poisoning in America that took twenty years to solve.
