It’s been another very busy few months at Yeti with numerous programmes delivering and others tx-ing. The team have finished a brand-new series for Channel 4 that will air in Summer 2023 – fronted by a very exciting duo of talent. We’ve also put the finishing touches to a beautiful single documentary also for Channel 4 that will air later in the year….. if you like historic homes – you’ll love this! The series of short Food VTs we filmed in 2022 will also finally hit our screens in Wales in February and then in the UK in March. We are delighted that Our Sky Arts documentary on Spike Milligan has smashed audience figures and will be screened at two upcoming festivals – you can still watch it on catch-up. The development team are busy cooking up a slate of new ideas including funded developments for ITV, BBC and Red Bull – whilst the production team are hard at work on a couple of One Show VTs, a CBBC documentary that will air later in the year, and a feature documentary for Red Bull. Finally, Yeti’s Creative Director Sian Price was delighted to be part of the WYRSE project which aims to bridge the gap between FE colleges/universities and the screen industries. The guidelines to which she has contributed and help shape over the past year will be launching via ScreenSkills and Middlesex University this month.
Yeti were thrilled to be nominated for a Bafta Cymru in the Best Factual Series category for The Great Big Tiny Design Challenge. Although it didn’t win, the team had a well-deserved night out! Our hit-rating documentary Edward VIII: Brtain’s Traitor King was also nominated in the Best History category at the International Broadcasting Awards. Again no win – but it was runner-up with a highly commended certificate. Congratulations to the entire teams on both projects!
Yeti is delighted to welcome Llinos Griffiths to the Development Team! She joins from Angelica Films and has an impressive track record in development with hits including Escape (Channel 4) and Inside the Ritz(ITV). She says “I am thrilled to be returning to the homeland to join Yeti who is the most exciting indie operating in the UK right now. Yeti also has the added bonus of being made up of the most talented, supportive and generous people in the industry and I can’t wait to add to their award-winning list of commissions”.
Yeti is delighted to welcome Simon Greenwood to the team! Working across production and development as an SP and Exec, Simon brings a wealth of experience to the role having worked on Rich House Poor House(Channel 5), Sarah Beeny’s New Life in the Country (Channel 4) and Watchdog (BBC1). Simon says: “I’m very excited to be joining the team at Yeti, who are esteemed for crafting beautifully made TV series and one offs across a wide range of programming. Sian and her team encourage a collegiate and supportive culture, where people are valued, something I’m keen to play a part in. I also hope to add hours to their slate from a wide range of subjects in Factual TV as well as helping deliver some excellent series in production.”
A SPECIAL BFI SCREENING
In collaboration with the BFI and Sky Arts, the BFI Southbank hosted a special preview screening of Spike Milligan: The Unseen Archive in early December. PD Seb Barfield, Executive Producer Sian Price and Comedian Al Murray did a Q&A session after the preview – chaired by the BFI’s Dick Fiddy. The programme contained material ‘missing believed wiped’ with rare Spike Milligan sketches played in full in a subsequent showing. We were thrilled with the audience reaction and continue to be indebted to the Milligan Family who made this collaboration so enjoyable.
Yeti has been commissioned to make two feature-documentaries about 2 of Britain’s best loved actors – Judi Dench and Maggie Smith – which will transmit on Channel 5 in July.

As we head into summer, many of the team are looking forward to a well-deserved break after some busy months of work. We’ve been busy delivering 2 feature documentaries for Channel 5 which explore the remarkable life and career of two of Britain’s best-loved actors: Judi Dench and Maggie Smith. The team are busy in final post-production on a fantastic new crime series for CBS called The Truth About My Murder – fronted by ex-Home Office pathologist Dr Richard Shepherd. A team will be busy filming over the summer for a brand-new Food Series for BBC1 – coming to our screens in the Autumn – and also more One Show VTs. Finally, filming is underway on two landmark feature documentaries: one for Sky Arts about Spike Milligan and the other a RedBull documentary on downhill mountain-bike superstar Rachel Atherton. We’ve expanded the team with runners Byn Bellis & Ali Yaraee, researcher Aminah Khan, Prod Secretary Laura Bull and PD Meinir Mai Richards all joining the team. We also have two new commissions we’re not allowed to announce just yet …. But it’ll be a busy rest of the year!

Happy Easter everyone! Things continue to be VERY busy for Team Yeti and it’s great to start having some of the team back in the office at long last. We took over the schedules on March 27th with 2 incredible programmes airing on the same night. Britain’s Traitor King – an explosive documentary about Edward VIII – pulled over 1.5 million viewers and was the top-rating Channel 4 show of the night. Over on More4 the same night was the first episode of our BIG (but tiny!) new design competition series. The Great Big Tony Design Challenge with Sandi Toksvig runs for 8 incredible episodes and is already gathering a loyal audience. It even featured on Gogglebox!
We have a number of projects in production at the moment including two feature documentaries for Channel 5, a crime series for CBS, a feature documentary for RedBull and a feature documentary for Sky Arts.
