It’s been a very busy few months at Yeti. Programmes have been made and already aired; we have projects in funded development; and we have various things in production right now. The team on Series 2 of Prue Leith’s Cotswold Kitchen are currently busy in the edit putting together what promises to be a brilliant series 2 with some exciting celebrity guests popping by! We’ve filmed a handful of lovely One Show inserts which are a great opportunity for more junior members of the team to make a short film. A fantastic team worked their socks off to deliver 3 Channel 5 documentaries in less than three months – Hatfield House, Althorp House and Glamis Castle have all gone out to fantastic viewing figures. Our tribute to Maggie Smith was also repeated on Channel 5 following the sad news of her death and pulled a huge audience that night. We are in funded development for two very exciting projects – one for Sky Arts and one for the BBC. And we’re working away on two very different feature documentaries – for BBC and Amazon – more details can be revealed soon.
It’s Yeti Vs Yeti in this year’s Bafta Cymru Awards! Two of our programmes are nominated in the Best Children’s Category – Ser Steilio (S4C) and My Life: I Was Bullied (CBBC). Huge congratulations to both teams.
In the RTS Midlands awards, Yeti’s documentary for Channel 4 Car Boot Kings is nominated in the Best Documentary Category. Huge congratulations to debut director Peter Cam Bang Tat and the whole team.
Yeti’s Creative Director Sian Price was privileged to be selected to attend Pact’s Content Without Borders event in Chepstow in September. This international-facing event connects programme makers with global programme buyers and was a fantastic opportunity to make and strengthen our relationships with global partners!
Yeti’s Creative Director Sian Price was invited to be part of this year’s Edinburgh Festival Committee – helping shape the programme and narrative around class at the festival. Sian also produced a panel called ‘Opportunity Knocks: How to Survive and Thrive into 2025’ and was part of shaping ‘The C Word’ panel in its early stages. As a company committed to levelling the playing field particularly when it comes to class, it was fantastic to see this issue being discussed loudly and proudly at the UK’s biggest TV Festival.
Yeti was thrilled that SBS in Australia premiered Spike Milligan: The Unseen Archive on their platform in January 2024. It launched to rave reviews and great viewing figures with the Sydney Morning Herald in a 5-star review describing it as “refreshing….it manages to be irreverent even while revering. There’s a playfulness in the presentation….this doco is a treasure”.
Yeti’s brilliant feature documentary for Sky Arts has now picked up a hat-trick of award nominations. The latest is for the 2024 Broadcast Awards in the Best-Multi-Channel programme category. Could it be third time lucky for this film? Good luck to all the nominees!
We are thrilled that Yeti’s shooting AP Joseph Haines and his wife Libby have welcomed beautiful baby Christopher to the world. Congratulations!
Happy New Year! Most of the team had a long & welcome break over the festive period after delivering two big series right at the end of the year. One team had to keep working though to deliver a very exciting new feature documentary for Channel 5 that should be hitting screens very soon! It’s a jaw-dropping story of royal scandal on an island paradise during WW2! Before we swing into action on new productions, we’re working hard developing a slate of brand-new ideas, continuing to produce One Show VTs and dusting off our best outfits for a slate of upcoming award ceremonies!
We are thrilled that our feature documentary for Sky Arts – Spike Milligan: The Unseen Archive – has been nominated for 2 awards. It’s up for Best Single Documentary at the Bafta Cymru Awards (October) and Best Specialist Factual at the International Broadcasting Awards (November). Huge congratulations to all involved!
Yeti are pleased to announce their latest commission for ITV1 – a ten-part cookery series with national treasure and culinary legend Prue Leith! Set in her own idyllic Cotswolds home kitchen, the national treasure will celebrate and cook some of her all-time favourite dishes. More than a cookery show, Prue, alongside her right-hand man and husband, John, will share their top kitchen hacks and culinary short-cuts to help simplify cooking. The ten-part series will see Prue treat viewers to an array of dishes, from easy-to-make mid-week meals, to dinner party-inspired dishes or even a simple dessert, that’s always worth the calories. In Prue’s own words, it will be a ‘simply delicious romp’ through a recipe folder she’s been building up over 60 years in the culinary world, with a few tantalising stories served up in Prue’s unique style.
