We are thrilled that our feature documentary for Sky Arts – Spike Milligan: The Unseen Archive – has been nominated for 2 awards. It’s up for Best Single Documentary at the Bafta Cymru Awards (October) and Best Specialist Factual at the International Broadcasting Awards (November). Huge congratulations to all involved!
Yeti are pleased to announce their latest commission for ITV1 – a ten-part cookery series with national treasure and culinary legend Prue Leith! Set in her own idyllic Cotswolds home kitchen, the national treasure will celebrate and cook some of her all-time favourite dishes. More than a cookery show, Prue, alongside her right-hand man and husband, John, will share their top kitchen hacks and culinary short-cuts to help simplify cooking. The ten-part series will see Prue treat viewers to an array of dishes, from easy-to-make mid-week meals, to dinner party-inspired dishes or even a simple dessert, that’s always worth the calories. In Prue’s own words, it will be a ‘simply delicious romp’ through a recipe folder she’s been building up over 60 years in the culinary world, with a few tantalising stories served up in Prue’s unique style. The year has flown by so far & despite the slow-down in commissioning, Yeti have landed some exciting new projects. We are currently in production on a cookery series for ITV1 with an A-list female talent; a brand-new children’s craft competition series for S4C (supported by the BFI’s Young Audiences Content Fund); and a second series of our award-nominated The Truth About My Murder for CBS Originals. We have also delivered three single films that will be hitting your screens in the very near future – a feature-doc for Channel 5; a moving film about bullying for CBBC; and a film that delves into the cost-of-living crisis in a rather unusual way – for Channel 4. We have a few things in funded development including a feature documentary for Sky Arts and a daytime series for Channel 4. The team continues to grow with a raft of freelancers working with Yeti – including exec producers Siwan Jobbins and Andrew O’Connell; series producers Sara Allen, Carole Lochhead and Lowri Jones; directors Rebecca Whyte, Matt Botten, Andrew Tait and Cam Bang Tat; APs Yeota Imam-Rashid and Max Davies; and researchers Kate Goodyer, Kerri Braham and Morgana Edwards. In other news, back in May, Yeti’s Creative Director took part in a panel at the Wales Screen Summit to share her experiences of securing investment. Then in June, Sian was asked to give evidence to a select committee in Parliament about the challenges to the broadcast sector in Wales. We’ve also had a Yeti engagement – congratulations to our AP Georgina Pike and fiancé James! And Joseph Haines has earned his first directing credits on The One Show and our forthcoming CBBC documentary – fantastic news!

Yeti was thrilled to win Multi-Channel Production Company of the Year at the 2023 Broadcast Digital Awards. Judges described Yeti as “an emerging Welsh powerhouse” and praised the breadth and range of qualifying content – which included The Great Big Tiny Design Challenge (More4), Spike Milligan: The Unseen Archive (Sky Arts) and The Truth About My Murder (CBS Reality).
Yeti’s multi-award nominated documentary Edward VIII: Britain’s Traitor King made for Channel 4 continues to pull in viewers. It’s now had an unbelievable eleven repeats across Channel 4 and More4 and on its latest repeat, still managed to pull an audience of over a million!
Yeti’s acclaimed Channel 4 documentary Edward VIII: Britain’s Traitor King was nominated for its second award – an RTS Cymru for Best Documentary. It was shortlisted in the final four but sadly didn’t quite scoop the win. Congratulations to all our fellow nominees!
It’s been another very busy few months at Yeti with numerous programmes delivering and others tx-ing. The team have finished a brand-new series for Channel 4 that will air in Summer 2023 – fronted by a very exciting duo of talent. We’ve also put the finishing touches to a beautiful single documentary also for Channel 4 that will air later in the year….. if you like historic homes – you’ll love this! The series of short Food VTs we filmed in 2022 will also finally hit our screens in Wales in February and then in the UK in March. We are delighted that Our Sky Arts documentary on Spike Milligan has smashed audience figures and will be screened at two upcoming festivals – you can still watch it on catch-up. The development team are busy cooking up a slate of new ideas including funded developments for ITV, BBC and Red Bull – whilst the production team are hard at work on a couple of One Show VTs, a CBBC documentary that will air later in the year, and a feature documentary for Red Bull. Finally, Yeti’s Creative Director Sian Price was delighted to be part of the WYRSE project which aims to bridge the gap between FE colleges/universities and the screen industries. The guidelines to which she has contributed and help shape over the past year will be launching via ScreenSkills and Middlesex University this month.
Yeti were thrilled to be nominated for a Bafta Cymru in the Best Factual Series category for The Great Big Tiny Design Challenge. Although it didn’t win, the team had a well-deserved night out! Our hit-rating documentary Edward VIII: Brtain’s Traitor King was also nominated in the Best History category at the International Broadcasting Awards. Again no win – but it was runner-up with a highly commended certificate. Congratulations to the entire teams on both projects!
Yeti is delighted to welcome Llinos Griffiths to the Development Team! She joins from Angelica Films and has an impressive track record in development with hits including Escape (Channel 4) and Inside the Ritz(ITV). She says “I am thrilled to be returning to the homeland to join Yeti who is the most exciting indie operating in the UK right now. Yeti also has the added bonus of being made up of the most talented, supportive and generous people in the industry and I can’t wait to add to their award-winning list of commissions”.
Yeti is delighted to welcome Simon Greenwood to the team! Working across production and development as an SP and Exec, Simon brings a wealth of experience to the role having worked on Rich House Poor House(Channel 5), Sarah Beeny’s New Life in the Country (Channel 4) and Watchdog (BBC1). Simon says: “I’m very excited to be joining the team at Yeti, who are esteemed for crafting beautifully made TV series and one offs across a wide range of programming. Sian and her team encourage a collegiate and supportive culture, where people are valued, something I’m keen to play a part in. I also hope to add hours to their slate from a wide range of subjects in Factual TV as well as helping deliver some excellent series in production.”
